Fear Is The Name Of The Game In The ‘Batman Miniature Game’
Knight Models has dropped some new teaser images for their popular Batman Miniature Game. These new models are for Scarecrow’s crew and bring with them a new mechanic to the game - Nightmares.
Nightmares are a new unit type to the game. There will be 5 different types of Nightmares that. player can had to the Scarecrow Crew. These Nightmares will have several new rules that make them a literal nightmare for a player’s opponents:
Nightmares have a Move Attribute of 0 that cannot be modified in any way, Players can place a Nightmare in contact with a friendly suspect at the beginning of their Activation Phase, however.
They are removed as a Casualty if KO’d and cannot take efforts to Attack or Defend.
Nightmares can receive Audacity Markers when not in play, which is handy as they can be returned to play in the next round by removing a card from either the Terror pile or Objective Deck. They come back without any of their previous damage or effects.
Nightmares can Melee Attack and manipulate within a 4” radius.
Select models within the Scarecrow Crew can redirect hits to friendly Nightmares, making the members of the crew more durable than ever.
Nightmare have a unique rule called Tangible Fear. This rule speeds up the rotation of cards in the controlling player’s Objective Deck and lets Nightmare models ignore the Defense and Attack values of rival models. The rival models will instead use the value of half their Willpower (rounded down) so long as they are within 4” of a Nightmare model.
Outside of the obvious fun the new mechanics appear to be, the models are absolutely gorgeous. Whomever was Knight Models’ sculptor for these deserves a raise. The Nightmares themselves are just dripping in style, while the Arkham Doctors (we assume that is who they are) look as though they just walked out of a Tim Burton stop-motion animated movie.
It should go without saying that we are extremely excited for this release as it combines so many of our favorite things (gaming, Batman, horror). Hopefully we’ll get our hands on these in time for our Miniatures of the Multiverse event.
