All That Is Certain In ‘Moonstone’ Is ‘Death And Taxes’
The team behind the popular miniature game Moonstone have announced two new releases for the month of May - the Death and Taxes expansion and a Goblin King “Coronation Chicken” Limited Edition model.
The Death and Taxes expansion features three new goblins to add to your horde of little green mischief makers within the Dominion faction.
Jobie is a goblin rogue who is able to constantly come back for being slain multiple times during the game. He also appears to have a new faction symbol (rumor has it that it might be an undead faction). The model is also one of our favorite sculpts we’ve seen come out of this game because it is so full of character.
The Tax Collector makes it so that the enemy models are punished for every Moonstone they have in their possession. Friendly models are able to restore their wounds or move towards the Tax Collector based on the number of Moonstones in their possession.
Portly Pete is a goblin soldier who is a goblin synergy machine. If a goblin in possession of a Moonstone is damaged, Portly Pete can take the damage instead. He can increase energy and movement for friendly models as well. Best of all, unless slain, he cannot lose control of Moonstones.
Finally, but certainly not the least, is the Goblin King “Coronation Chicken” Limited Edition model.
For some reason, they decided to release this model exclusively in the month of May. We have no idea why, though. Maybe there is something special going on in their side of the planet? Who can say?
The model it self is absolutely gorgeous regardless of the reason. You can just see the level of detail and character their sculptures and designers put into ever model.
Ability wise, he offers fantastic synergy with the Death and Taxes expansion. The Goblin King can put the damage he is dealt onto another friendly goblin (like Jobie), as well as force another goblin to activate immediately at the cost of damaging that model. He is able to snatch up a Moonstone carried by a friendly goblin (like the Tax Collector or Portly Pete).
Both of these releases are currently available for order via the official Moonstone webstore. The Goblin King “Coronation Chicken” Limited Edition model is only available during the month of May 2023, so snatch him up before he retreats back into his vault of precious Moonstones.
