Fantasy Flight Games dropped a surprise announcement with news of Star Wars: Unlimited, a brand-new trading card game.

According to Fantasy Flight Games, Star Wars: Unlimited is a fast-paced and dynamic game that is accessible to everyone. The game features “straightfoward mechanics” that are easy to learn and strategically deep. In the hopes of appealing to Star Wars fans and collectors, the game features brand-new, never before seen art from the movies, television series, comics, video games, and everything in between.

The game has been in development for the previous three years, with plans for regular releases of three sets per year. Fantasy Flight Games has designed a fully integrated Organized Play experience alongside the game, including weekly store-level play to worldwide large-scale events. The game will also feature alternate art cards with special treatments and variant visuals.

Beyond that, the only thing else known about Star Wars: Unlimited is that it launches globally in 2024. With Disney Lorcana releasing later this year, and now Star Wars: Unlimited next year, the House of Mouse is primed to hit the trading card market like a wrecking ball if these games are viable both as games and collectibles.
