Wizards of the Coast Announces Special ‘Phyrexia: All Will Be One’ Promotion

Wizards of the Coast have announced a special promotion for the launch of the Phyrexia: All Will Be One Bundle: Complete Edition. The promotion brings back the fan-favorite click-wheel life counter, featuring an exclusive Phyrexian aesthetic.

The click-wheel life counter promotion is available to all WPN stores around the world to celebrate the launch of the aforementioned bundle. Any player who purchases the Phyrexia: All Will Be One Bundle: Compleat Edition or makes a purchase of $75 (or more) on sealed Magic the Gathering products will receive one of these beautiful looking accessories. The promotion will begin on March 3, 2023, and run while supplies last.

The bundle is currently available for preorder via Wizard of the Coast’s Amazon store front for $80. Check with your local game stores, of course, about preordering the bundle as well. The bundle is listed to include:

  • 1 Compleat Edition booster - contains 2 Mythic Rares and 10 Basic Lands (2 of each type) in the exclusive “Oil Slick Raised” foiling.

  • 12 Phyrexia: All Will Be One booster packs.

  • 40 tradition foil basic land cards.

  • 1 tradition foil Rare promo card.

  • A Compleat Bundle-exclusive foil card box.

For those that may be new to Magic the Gathering, especially the Commander/EDH format, you might be wondering why this is such a big deal. Commander preconstructed decks have been coming with the paper/card-stock life wheel since 2019’s Throne of Eldraine Brawl Decks (yes, we know they aren’t officially Commander decks, but you know that they are). In the before time, Wizards of the Coast released four premium products to local game stores that included these (though they were black and red, featuring the iconic Planeswalker emblem instead). These sets were Commander’s Arsenal (2012), Archenemy: Nicol Bolas (2017), Commander Anthology (2017), and Commander Anthology Volume II (2018).

These plastic click-wheel counters have been a staple accessory in the format for over a decade and yet haven’t been manufactured in half that time. If you were a solo player who bought any of these products for simply the decks (of which there was insane value in the Anthology line), you could have sold off the additional dials to make a chunk of your money back. Currently the Commander Anthology dial is listed on TCGPlayer at $23.

Needless to say we are thrilled to see Wizards of the Coast returning to something that fans have universally loved, even if we have to jump through a couple hoops to get them. Hopefully this won’t be the last time we see these.
