In ‘Demon Ship’, No One Can Hear You Scream

Fresh off the astounding Don’t Look Back campaign for a new edition, Black Site Studios is back with a brand new game - Demon Ship.

Designed by Malev, Demon Ship is a single-player miniature game in which a player is lone survivor of an intergalactic space ship stuck in the pull of an interdimensional portal. As demons begin boarding the ship, the player needs to restore the ship’s power, start the self-destruct sequence, and escape. Demon Ship is a game designed to be fast-paced game with little set up. With a few miniatures, regular d6’s, and a few minutes, players will be slaughtering demons on their ship like they are in their favorite alien horror movies.

The Demon Ship Starter Box will include everything a player needs to get started in the action:

  • 45-page rule booklet (includes a PDF)

  • Token Sheet

  • Resin cast Survivor miniature (x1)

  • Resin cast Blade Demons (x2)

  • Resin cast Gun Demon (x1)

  • Resin cast Frog Demon (x1)

  • Retro themed game box

Along with the starter box, there is an official terrain kit that features pre-painted MDF terrain that stores away in its box. To help players track their games more easily, they are also releasing an MDF game dashboard.

Finally, and something we are rather excited to see Black Site Studios exploring, are two special survivor miniatures - Witty and Malev. What makes these so special, you ask? First, they are experimenting with a retro packaging that resembles the old school toy boxes you’d find your action figures in. Most importantly, however, they are are modeled after the miniature painting streamer Wittle Goblin and the game’s designer Malev. Each miniature includes special rules for when you include them in your games.

Demon Ship is currently available for preorder over on the Black Site Studios website, with plans to have the game shipping very soon. From everything we’ve seen so far, this looks like it is going to be a blast and a strong contender for game of 2023. We certainly cannot wait to get our hands on it.
