Games Workshop Announces Preorders For ‘Leviathan’ Launch
Games Workshop have announced a slew of physical preorders to be timed with the release of Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan on June 24, 2023.
First up is the tenth edition Warhammer 40,000 Core Book.
The 280-page hardback book contains the core rules for the game, as well as updated rules for Combat Patrol that include six missions. Along with rules, the book features Game Workshop’s bevy of lore and artwork for Warhammer 40,000. If you were lucky enough to snag a copy of Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan, this content is featured in the included book.
The Core Book will also be available in a limited edition version. This edition of the book features detailed artwork on the box of the Emperor sitting upon the Golden Throne. The Core Book features brand-new art by John Blanche. The edition also includes a 64-page book with only the game’s core rules, six metal objective markers, two double-sided rules sheets, and five double-sided art prints. There will only be 1,600 numbered copies of the limited edition produced.
Along with the Core Book, Games Workshop is releasing Crusade: Tyrannic War.
This update rule book for Warhammer 40,000’s Crusade game mode features 184-pages of revamped rules, traits, relics and more. The book also includes 15 Tyrannic War missions that take players through the Galactic West as it is under siege by multiple Hive Fleets. All of the printed content in this book is in the book include with Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan.
As with the previous book, they will be offering a Collectors’ Edition of Crusade: Tyrannic War. This book features a soft-touch cover with gold foiling and a black ribbon page marker. No details on if it is limited in number or not like the Core Book’s limited edition.
Up next is the Chapter Approved: Leviathan Mission Deck.
This is the same deck that was included in the Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan box. The 66-card deck has everything players need to generate and play Chapter Approved missions. Included in the box are five deployment cards, nine primary missions cards, and twelve mission rule cards that combine to generate 400 or more different missions. There are also sixteen attacker and sixteen defender secondary mission cards to keep players on their toes.
Finally, but certainly not least, we are getting the Warhammer 40,000 Index Cards.
Every faction in Warhammer 40,000 is getting an Index Card release at the same time. These are the data sheets, army rules, and themed Detachments that are currently available for free as PDF on the Warhammer Community download page. The upside to these would be able to have them at the ready as opposed to swiping back and forth on your phone/tablet or printing them out. Downside is that they are updated regularly in the PDF so more popular factions may see more regular updates, thus making the cards obsolete.
Regardless, these will definitely be a must have for all Warhammer 40,000 players.
Are you looking forward to any of these physical products? Or did you snag yourself a copy of Leviathan and don’t need anything other than the Index Cards? Sound off on social media and let us know!
