AMG Offers Up New ‘Star Wars: Shatterpoint’ Details
Atomic Mass Games recently hosted a special unboxing livestream featuring their upcoming miniatures game Star Wars: Shatterpoint. During the unboxing they announced some new details for the game, including preorder dates and pricing.
Beginning January 30, 2023, players can begin preordering an assortment of Star Wars: Shatterpoint products:
Star Wars: Shatterpoint Starter Set - The box contains so much plastic, including 16 based miniatures and all the terrain anyone could evidently need for the game. The 16 based miniatures make up the four 4-model squads (depicted to the right). The set will retail for $164.99.
Hello There Squad Pack - The first of the individual Squad Packs, the Hello There pack includes General Kenobi, Clone Commander Cody, and two 212th Clone Troopers. The Star Wars: Shatterpoint Squad Packs are designed to give players a complete squad out of the box. They will retail for $49.99.
High Ground and Take Cover Terrain Packs - These include extra models of the terrain featured in the starter set, along with exclusive scatter terrain like the rock formations and lone land speeder. No price has been announced for the kits yet.
Extra dice and movement tools - Much like Marvel Crisis Protocol and Star Wars Legion, additional accessories will be made available. No price has been announced yet.
The idea of the Squad Packs is a fantastic one. From what we could gather from the unboxing, a player needs two squads to form their full team for the game (they said the full team building rules would be made available later via articles online). Giving players the option to have all they need out of the box is a great way to attract new players and get over the hurdle a lot of games have for their barrier of entry.
Can we also just say playing into the fantastic moment from the prequel series that inspired a million memes is just amazing?
