Atomic Mass Games Adepticon ‘Marvel Crisis Protocol’ Announcements

During today’s The Path of the Worthy Award Ceremony at Adepticon 2023, Atomic Mass Games revealed several new models coming to Marvel Crisis Protocol in the future. The ceremony was streamed live on the Professional Casual Network Twitch channel.

Players will soon return to the kingdom of Wakanda with new models and terrain pieces. Black Panther and Killmonger get brand new figures and (presumably) new stats. The panther waterfall is absolutely astounding.

Additional new terrain kits include a highly detailed fountain, ornate panther statues, a Wakandan vehicle, and some various bits of scatter terrain. The new terrain was mentioned to include rules that will increase the game’s threat level.

M’Baku and Klaw come to the battlefields to defend or destroy Wakanda. M’Baku was a fan favorite from the films, so we are excited to finally see him on the table. Meanwhile Klaw is a classic Marvel Comics villain and looks like an interesting sculpt to both assemble and paint.

For fans of Marvel’s more cosmic level threats, Atomic Mass Games will be releasing Cosmic Ghost Rider and a brand-new Ultron to the mix.

The Cosmic Ghost Rider model looks as crazy as one would expect of Frank Castle (the Punisher) possessed by the Spirit of Vengeance and embed with the Power Cosmic. While not the deepest of cuts in terms of character selection, this one is definitely one out of left field.

The new Ultron just looks amazing. And the best part? Ultron Drones! Some folks online have wondered if this Ultron is based on the animated What If…? Ultron, but the look is definitely taken from the Annihilation: Conquest story line from the actual comic books. Either way, we can only hope his stats are as good as his model.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the arrival of more mutants to the table top.

First up, we have Professor Xavier finally coming to join the fight with his X-Men against his old friend Magneto and his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. We are getting the classic hover chair look, from the quintessential 1990’s animated cartoon. The cartoon, of course, inspired by the Jim Lee redesigns of the merry band of mutants from X-Men #1. Xavier will also come with an alternate head with Cerebro.

Next we have the time-traveling Bishop and, one of the most request characters, Nightcrawler. Bishop will come with two different head sculpts. Nightcrawler will feature an optional “BAMF!” sound effect (the classic sound effect from all of his comic book appearances), as well as an option for his swords.

Rounding out the X-Men, we’ll be seeing Kitty Pryde and Iceman join the ranks of playable mutants on the tabletop. Both models feature incredibly dynamic sculpts the look like a blast to build and paint. The addition of Lockheed makes us so incredibly happy. With Bobby Drakes debut, we are just one character short of the original five X-Men (Angel).

Finally, we have the telepathic villain known as the Shadow King. This model is an unique one for sure. It looks great, but also a little top heavy. Hopefully they have the center of gravity for the model sorted out before it ships.

Ultimately, there is a little bit of something for everyone in these releases. From the technologically advanced lands of Wakanda to the far-reached of the cosmos, Atomic Mass Games looks to be delivering on all things Marvel Crisis Protocol.

Now…where are the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom?
