The Scarecrow Rides Into Knight Models’ March Releases
Knight Models have announced the last of their March preorders for the Batman Miniatures Game, all focusing on the fear-inducing Scarecrow.
First up, we have the villain himself with Scarecrow: The Worst Nightmare.
Truth be told, this may be the best looking Scarecrow model Knight Models has released to date. The spectral horse he is riding is giving off major Pestilence (of the Four Horsemen varsity) and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow vibes. There are so many ways we can see this being painted that it almost makes us want to get multiple kits for different schemes.
The model itself is on a 60mm base, standard for Leader models in the game since the launch of third edition. His card looks rather solid, a leader that really benefits from the support around him. Speaking of support…
The Scarecrow Crew: Trick or Treat features some of the best looking hench-people imaginable.
We covered the crew and their new mechanics when they were teased earlier this month, but what was not announced at the time was the eighth member of the crew - Hugo Strange.
Something interesting, rather intentional or not, is that the crew (by itself) adds up to an even 350 points. This means you wouldn't be able to run Scarecrow: The Worst Nightmare and all eight of these models on the same team. The Dr. Friitawa model does have Lieutenant [Scarecrow] that makes her Funding Cost zero if he is included, but that still doesn’t help. Not that any of that is a deal breaker by any means. It just means that Scarecrow players will have to be a bit more strategic in their list buildings.
Besides, as much as we love those Tim Burton-eqsue Arkham staff, the Nightmare models will win out every time. Not only are they mechanically cooler, they offer a fantastic opportunity to make a truly unique crew. Hopefully Knight Models will release more Nightmare models in the future to really make for some diverse builds.
Last up for the March 2023 preorders we have the Scarecrow Card Pack.
The third edition of the Batman Miniature Game really focused in on the objective side of the game, which is where these fantastic card packs come into play. Each crew has their own dedicated decks that players can combine with the generic cards found in the Batman Miniature Game: Objective Card Set 2. This keeps the games fresh and allows each crew in the game to go one step further into being their own unique identity.
The Scarecrow Card Pack includes 47 cards, including character specific cards for Scarecrow, Dr. Friitawa, and Hugo Strange. Like other cards in the game, the Scarecrow Card Pack cards feature art work pulled directly from the pages of DC Comics. As a comic fan, we appreciate that. It is a nice little touch.
All of these terrifying new items are available to preorder currently from your friendly local game store or via Knight Models’ online shop.
