UVS Games Announces ‘Dark Tournament’ And More For UniVersus

UVS Games have dropped details on several upcoming products for their hit trading card game UniVersus, including a return to fan-favorite Yu Yu Hakusho.

After a long absence, UVS Games is returning to the Spirit World with Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament. The set is the follow-up to 2019’s original Yu Yu Hakusho set for UniVersus (UFS back then).

Based on one of the most popular anime arcs of all time, the new Dark Tournament set will only be available at local game stores. Said stores will have the ability to run special release events for the set, as well. While details are being kept under wraps for the moment, UVS Games did state that the set will feature brand new cards and a mix of reprints from the previous release.

Pulling back the curtain for a moment, we cannot stress enough how excited we are for this announcement. Yu Yu Hakusho is the number one anime we recommend to everyone and the original trading card game by Score from the early 2000’s hold a special place in our collections (and hearts).

Releasing January 19th, the first of the Challenger Series releases with Cowboy Bebop and Trigun: Stampede.

Each deck comes with a fully-playable card, featuring two different character options, and a Collector’s Booster Pack. The included pack contains six alternate art foil cards from the decks.

The Cowboy Bebop deck includes Spike, Bounty Hunter and Faye, Queen of Hearts. Trigun: Stampede includes Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood.

Lastly, they announced that a new My Hero Academia set will be released in the first half of 2024. With My Hero Academia: Jet Burn being the franchise’s sixth UniVersus set, it will remain to be seen what surprises the folks at UVS Games will unleash in that set.
