Games Workshop Officially Announces New Commander Dante For ‘40K’

Earlier today, Games Workshop officially announced the new Blood Angels: Commander Dante model for Warhammer 40,000.

The reason we say officially is due to possibly one of, if not the number one, worst leaks from Games Workshop (or any miniature company for that matter). We won’t go into the details as we try not to play around with leaks/rumors in the news, but suffice to say it was either a massive error somewhere along Game Workshop’s supply chain or this was one of the best guerrilla marketing ploys in recent memory.

As far as the model itself is concerned, it is a massive improvement over the original model. Crossing the Rubicon Primaris, Commander Dante has been scaled up to be inline with various other Primaris Space Marines in the game. The detail on the model is absolutely astounding and the pose truly capture’s the Lord Regent of Imperium Nihilus’ arrival into battle. The Death Mask of Sanguinius and both of his weapons look like they will be extremely fun to paint.

The only complaint we can truly say we have is the use of Tactical Rocks (TM) for his only connection point to the base. With that massive jet pack (hover pack?) on his back, one would think a clear flight stand would have offered more support. Get your paperclips and superglue ready.

Ultimately, if this is the appetizer to what Games Workshop has in store for Adepticon next week, consider us excited. Until then, check out this cool launch video for Commander Dante that they dropped in the announcement:
